Redeemed villainess Ms. Baker
Ms. Baker (Shaunté Massard) is the redeemed villainess from Wife Sues Ex-Husband Over Child Support, Instantly Regrets It, a short film released by Dhar Mann Studios (release date October 20, 2020).
The film began with a custody hearing between Ms. Baker and her ex-husband, Roger Jones, with Ms. Baker demanding full custody of their daughter, Brittany. Ms. Baker's main complaint was a lack of finances from Roger, as she stated that she only received $300 from her ex-husband, adding that it was enough to demand custody of Brittany. The callous mother shushed Brittany in response to her daughter's pleas to stay with her father, and after hearing Roger state that he had been paying rent and buying food despite being financially strapped, Ms. Baker mocked her ex-husband and boasted about her boyfriend, Damien, making twice what Roger made.
Roger later voiced his love for Brittany, adding that her needs always came first and that he did everything to make her happy, and saying that he only had half of the money, but gave twice as much love. In response, the cold-hearted Ms. Baker laughed at Roger and stated that he couldn't pay bills with love, with the judge ordering Ms. Baker to keep quiet before stating that he had to mull over the decision. Brittany hugged her father, only for Ms. Baker to order her daughter to come with her.
As the film progressed, Ms. Baker began to notice how inattentive Damien was to Brittany; looking at his phone as Brittany was being picked up, and refusing to help Brittany with her homework and read her a bedtime story. In every instance, Ms. Baker remembered that Roger did all of those things for Brittany, and also came to the realization that Roger was a better father for Brittany as well. The following day saw Ms. Baker and Brittany return to court, without Damien, as Ms. Baker broke up with her boyfriend. The judge was about to rule in favor for Ms. Baker, only for the regretful mother to realize how important Roger was to Brittany and change her mind on full custody. The film ends with Roger reading Brittany a bedtime story and expressing his love, while Ms. Baker watched fondly.
