Villainous (later redeemed) scientist Kathleen Kennedy
Dr. Kathleen Kennedy (Marlene Aragon) is the main villainess from "Attack of the Cats," the first segment of episode 3.07 of the 1980s SuperFriends series (airdate October 22, 1983).
Introduction[]
Dr. Kathleen Kennedy is a scientist at the Lucas Institute, and in the episode, she and Professor Stevens were working on a project that centered on improving vision in humans, by using the gene that is responsible for the cats' night vision. Through a microscope, Kathleen found the exact gene and informed Stevens of the news, adding that they had to place the gene inside one of the cats. As Kathleen took out one of the cats, she ended up scratched, with her reaction resulting in Kathleen accidentally knocking over the gene culture.
Heel Turn[]
Kathleen becoming an evil cat creature
Kathleen's attempt to clean up the mess resulted in the gene culture getting on her hands, and as she was set to wash her hands, she suddenly started feeling dizzy. In a stunning moment, Kathleen transformed into a cat creature, and as Stevens was checking on his colleague, Kathleen turned heel by attacking Stevens, who became a cat creature himself. The pair ransacked the lab before heading out into the city to create more creatures, with Kathleen leading the charge in her villainous quest. The lab's state drew the attention of Batman, Robin, and El Dorado, who searched for the missing scientists, only to find that they were both cat creatures.
During the melee, the evil Kathleen pounced on Robin and scratched him, turning him into a cat creature. In the climax, the maniacal villainess led her pack to the zoo, where she and the others freed a lion and panther from their cages and wreaked havoc in the area. All the while, Batman and El Dorado created an antidote that would turn Robin and the scientists back to normal, but their first attempt to use it saw Batman drop the spray, after which Kathleen stopped Batman from acquiring the antidote and later scratch him.
As Batman began his transformation, El Dorado regained possession of the spray after it was tossed in an elephant cage, and after spraying the trio, they all returned to normal. Now fully redeemed and human, Kathleen thanked the trio of superheroes for saving herself, Stevens and Robin.
