Charlotte Lexington (Eden Cupid) is a redeemed anti-villainess from the 2023 Lifetime film, Secrets of a University (originally titled, One Deadly Decision; airdate August 3, 2023).
Introduction[]
Charlotte Lexington was introduced as the girlfriend of Nathan Holbrooke, who was the son of Senator James Holbrooke, and upon meeting main protagonist Eliza De La Cruz (who was James' illicit girlfriend), Charlotte mentioned Nathan's rampant drug use after Eliza (the head of admissions at Wilder University), was threatened by Nathan after Eliza discovered that he committed plagiarism. Later on, Eliza was drugged while she was out on a double date with James, Charlotte, and Nathan, and it was after a gathering that Nathan was found deceased, having fallen off the roof.
Eliza was left to be suspected in Nathan's death, and she had already been stalked by someone who had known about her affair and the fact that she was allowing Nathan to be admitted knowing that he was James' son. After Eliza watched video of Katie Wintermeyer with James before she was murdered by a mysterious figure, Eliza later learned the identity of the student who was originally supposed to receive the admission (and received the admission after Nathan's death): Charlotte Lexington.
Reveal[]
Charlotte was shown with the vial of the drug that was used on Eliza, which revealed her as the culprit, and she rehearsed her acceptance speech before drugging both James and his wife, Cora Holbrooke. After finding Cora incapacitated, Eliza ended up confronted by a knife-wielding Charlotte, who not only admitted to drugging the Holbrookes and Eliza, she made a cryptic confession to killing Nathan as well. While Charlotte praised Eliza for having morals, she chastised Eliza for abandoning her morals to admit Nathan, while adding that she told her what James and Nathan were like, and had been behind the stalking as well.
As for Katie's murder, Charlotte stated that she didn't kill Katie, only that she had seen the video of Katie and James and sent it to Eliza. At that moment, James appeared and revealed that he had enlisted a hitwoman to kill Katie to cover up the truth about his family, which was followed by James attempting to eliminate both Eliza and Charlotte, ending with James being killed by Eliza in self-defense. Both women cleaned up afterwards, and the film's final scenes, set eight months later, showed Charlotte and Eliza meeting one more time, with Charlotte enjoying her time at Wilder while venting about nearly being a victim of a system rigged by the Holbrookes.
