Villainous CEO Tessa Snyder
Tessa Snyder (Beth Malone) is the main villainess from "The Devil, The Detail," episode 2.08 of Bull (airdate November 14, 2017). She is the CEO of Dep Phamaceuticals.
Dep was the subject of a lawsuit after Simon Jones, a delivery boy who often makes deliveries to TAC (as well as Cable McCrory's former boyfriend), suddenly jumped off a building to his death. Simon was posthumously revealed to be working a side gig as a guinea pig for Dep, being used as a test subject for a new antidepressant. This led to Simon's parents suing, under the belief that the drug led to his suicide.
Tessa's only appearance in the episode came during her testimony in the climax, which had her claiming that Dep had a spotless record regarding their drug trial until Simon's suicide. In actuality, Tessa's appearance was due to the revelation that there was a previous death connected to the drug, as Chunk Palmer found out before Tessa's on-screen testimony. As it turned out, a homeless man named Edgar Paulsen was also taking the medication as part of the drug trial, and not only that, Tessa checked in on Edgar to make sure he was taking the drug regularly. Edgar hung himself six days after beginning the trial, and upon learning about his death, Tessa paid to have Edgar cremated, doing so to cover up any speculation or confirmation that the drug led to his suicide.
When Benny Colón asked about Edgar during his cross-examination, the evil Tessa stated that Edgar was in good mental and physical shape and that his financial problems led to his suicide. The villainous businesswoman added that the drug was not responsible for Edgar's death, only for Benny to reveal Tessa's role in paying for Edgar's cremation. After Benny asked Tessa about Edgar's cremation, the legal representative for Dep called for a recess, which ended up resulting in a settlement (off-screen).
