While Georgia was raised in a loving environment, Shannon was on the receiving end of abuse from her adoptive father, who broke Shannon's left arm on two occasions. Shannon tracked Georgia afterwards, and had been learning about her good life, though she would also learn that Georgia was having an affair, cheating on her fiancé, Luke, with Rory Stanz. Georgia ended the affair, but Rory would threaten to tell Luke everything, prompting Georgia to pay Rory for his silence. When Rory demanded more money, he spotted Shannon thinking it was Georgia, and angrily confronted her. In response, Shannon turned heel and murdered Rory, and later introduced herself to Georgia as her twin sister, while revealing to her sister that she killed Rory for her.

Shannon committed the murder hoping to receive love and acceptance from Georgia, but when Georgia expressed horror over her sister's actions and threatened to report her to the police, the evil Shannon bludgeoned Georgia to death and dumped her body over a cliff. The deranged villainess later posed as Georgia and started living her sister's good life, though the news about Shannon brought the Missing Persons unit on the case. Jason Grant and Nikki Batista encountered "Georgia" as she was practicing, and she acted mournful regarding the disappearance of "Shannon," while using her actual backstory to describe her fallen sister. She identified Shannon's body later on, doing so after writing a suicide note and sending it to her adoptive mother, Linda Steerman, who was on the receiving end of verbal lashing from "Georgia" regarding Shannon's environment.

After Linda informed Nikki about Shannon's twice broken arm, Nikki requested a scan on Shannon's body, though it was revealed to have no signs of a broken humerus. All the while, Shannon made her performance and was congratulated by Luke for making first chair, but their embrace saw Luke suddenly realize that he was in the car with Shannon, who revealed her true identity afterwards and stated that Georgia was cheating on him before attempting to kill Luke with a seatbelt. The madwoman later attempted to run down Luke before Jason blocked her path, and after she was taken in, Shannon confessed to stalking Georgia, as well as killing her sister and Rory. The villainess voiced her love for her sister, only to later claim that she was taking what was hers when she killed Georgia, voicing her anger over receiving nothing while Georgia got everything. Following her confession, Shannon was handcuffed and arrested.
