The evil Sarah Swindler
Sarah Swindler is the villainess of a short story released by IMR Scary Tales on May 17, 2022. She was introduced as the new foster mother of main protagonist/narrator Skyler.
The story opened with Skyler being dropped off at Sarah's house by Mr. Coleman (where she displayed an eager and happy reaction to meeting him) although he initially her found off-putting. This was compounded by Sarah's odd behaviour such as messily eating a chicken leg at dinner and insisting he refer to her as "Mommy", stating that she wanted to be more than a foster mother. Over time, Skyler became accustomed to living with Sarah (taking up household chores such as mowing the lawn).
One day in the garden, Skyler witnessed an elderly neighbour struggling to carry her groceries, which he did for her. While en-route to the woman's house, she expressed surprise at learning that Sarah had been approved to be a foster mother. Upon learning of the interaction, the psychotic woman ranted about how the old woman hated her for no reason and requested that her foster son avoided her. After eating, the evil woman gave the boy an allowance and encouraged him to go to the mall.
While walking, Skyler was overcome with the desire to ask the elderly woman for more information regarding Sarah. However, when he arrived at her house, he discovered the front door already opened and heard the sound of an argument. Upstairs, Sarah and the neighbour furiously argued, with the latter urging the old woman to return to an institution for her own good (furthermore revealing that Skyler was in fact Sarah's biological son whom she had been separated from at birth).
Skyler then heard the neighbour scream in horror and ran upstairs, where he discovered his mother having turned heel and beginning to viciously strangle her. Sarah dropped the woman when Skyler called her "mom" and broke down into tears. Sarah went on to reveal her backstory; she had gotten pregnant at 16 years old and was sent to an institution by her strict parents as a punishment.
When she gave birth to Skyler, she attempted to flee with him, bashing a guard's head in with a rock. Sarah then left her newborn son at the doorstep of a church before fleeing into the woods, hiding out from the police for the next eight months.
After hearing his mother's story and realising how deep her love was for him, Skyler assured her that they'd "live happily" together. The evil Sarah and her psychotic son then used a pillow to smother their neighbour to death and burning down her house before leaving. The woman's death was ruled an accident, with mother and son living happily together, with neither Mr. Coleman or any neighbour aware of their villainous secret.
