The evil Sarah Peterson

Sarah Peterson (Aubrey Reynolds) is the main villainess from the 2021 Lifetime film, A Deadly Grudge (alternately titled, A Sister's Grudge; airdate December 31, 2021).

Backstory[]

Sarah Peterson's backstory revealed that she was the product of Jim Peterson's relationship with his lover, Fran, though Jim was also in a relationship with another woman, Annie. After Sarah was born, Fran made Jim promise that he would marry her and remain in their lives, with Jim agreeing to make Fran his wife, while Jim and Annie never married. Fran, having seen how heartbroken Jim was without Annie, agreed to an arrangement that would allow Jim and Annie to be together, with Annie taking the Peterson name despite never becoming Jim's wife.

Regarding Sarah, Jim's identity as Sarah's father was kept a secret from Fran, who ended up raising Sarah on her on throughout her childhood and adult years, up until Fran's passing. Before her mother's death, Sarah learned about Jim and realized that he was her father, but upon seeing Lindsey's good life, Sarah became enraged.

Following her mother's passing, Sarah turned heel and plotted a murderous scheme to take over Lindsey's life, which began with taking a car belonging to Lindsey's fiancé, Gavin, and running down Annie as she was out jogging. It was during Annie's funeral that Sarah introduced herself to Jim, with Lindsey seeing them together and assuming that Sarah was Jim's lover, only for Sarah to be introduced as Jim's daughter and Lindsey's half-sister. Sarah charmed Jim with her baking skills, but secretly, the villainess began her plan to kill Lindsey, doing so by tampering with Lindsey's car. However, after Jim was heard outside the house just as Sarah was about to cut the brakes, Sarah feigned being run over to cover her tracks.

The villainess served a wedding cake containing cinnamon after learning about Lindsey's allergy to the spice, and she later drugged Lindsey's coffee and dressed herself as her half-sister while making attempts to flirt with Gavin. After seeing one exchange, Lindsey suspected Sarah's demeanor and voiced her fears to Gavin, and after she was disbelieved, Lindsey went on her own investigation into Sarah. As for the villainess, she donned her hooded disguise and attacked Lindsey outside her and Jim's bakery, doing so in another attempt to kill her, only to be saved by Gavin.

The film's climax saw Lindsey head to Sarah's house to look into her suspicions, only to find Gavin's car in her garage. After Lindsey called Gavin (who was driving to Sarah's house with Jim) and told him about her discovery, the evil Sarah appeared and confessed to killing Annie and attempting to kill Lindsey, adding that Lindsey lived the life that she wanted. The maniacal villainess revealed her plan to kill Lindsey and make it appear that she committed suicide, while stating that she would take everything that Lindsey had--including Gavin. Sarah wielded a bat in her attempt, only for Lindsey to fight her off and escape before encountering Gavin, who later saw Sarah and pleaded with her to put down her weapon. Sarah lunged at the couple, only for Jim to stop his deranged daughter, who sobbed in her father's arms before her off-screen arrest.
