The evil Rebecca Siegel
Rebecca Siegel (Laura Regan) is the main villainess from "Heartbreak Hotel," episode 4.08 of Castle (airdate November 7, 2011). She is the ex-wife of casino owner Sam Siegel, who was found shot to death.
The longevity of the Siegels' marriage was never revealed, but it was uncovered that they had been divorced for six months, making Rebecca the perfect suspect in her ex-husband's murder. In her interview with Kate Beckett and Richard Castle, Rebecca denied killing Sam and stated they were arguing over their joint ownership of an apartment building in Queens. Sam wanted Rebecca to sign over her half for a $1.5 million payment, stating that his life depended on it, only for Rebecca to refuse to sign, thinking it was a ruse. Rebecca claimed that she was in her apartment that entire night, and her alibi was confirmed by the doorman.
However, Sam's life was in danger, as he borrowed money from the mob to fund his casino, and mobster Tommy Moretti was after him to collect. This led to Moretti being suspected in Sam's murder, only for Moretti to inform Beckett and Castle that Sam informed him that he would be paid due to Rebecca signing the deed. Castle responded by saying that Sam lied and Rebecca didn't sign, only for Moretti to reveal that Sam showed him Rebecca's signature on the deed. Not only did this reveal that Rebecca lied about not signing, but it revealed Rebecca as Sam's killer.
Rebecca's murderous scheme was revealed during her interrogation from Beckett later on. She stated that Sam divorced her because he felt she was too old for him and was tired of her, and she revealed that she originally refused to sign, only to change her mind by force when Sam pointed a gun at her. Rebecca was elated to be divorced from him, but she realized that she would never be completely done with him due to his wealth and status. Rebecca turned heel after learning about someone wanting to kill Sam, doing so by following Sam to his meeting with Moretti and shooting him to death. The villainess used a .38 that Sam gave her as an anniversary gift, and after the murder, the evil Rebecca took possession of the deed and tossed it into the garbage.
The discarded deed was displayed by Beckett as part of Rebecca's reveal, and afterwards, the villainess boldly admitted to killing Sam, stating that she hunted him down like the animal he was. Following the reveal, Rebecca was arrested (off-screen) for her ex-husband's murder.
