The evil Patti Middlebrooks

Patti Middlebrooks (Serinda Swan) is a villainess from "Missing," episode 5.06 of Republic of Doyle (airdate November 13, 2013).

Patti Middlebrooks was introduced as the aunt of Sloan Daniels, and appeared to a drugged up Jake Doyle to help him find Sloan, who phoned Jake in a panic in the final scenes of the previous episode, "The Works." In actuality, Patti was a criminal who was after Sloan, and part of the plan had her drugging Jake and later posing as Sloan's aunt to get her to Sloan, as she had stolen a cellphone belonging to Patti's boyfriend, Warren Hedley.

Patti's reveal came once the pair found Sloan, as Jake figured out Patti's ruse right before he passed out, after which Patti demanded the phone from Sloan. The phone was a fake, as Sloan revealed that Jake had the actual phone, which had a passcode to a room that contained a valuable astrolabe, which the couple was planning to steal. After Warren's phone rang, Jake answered it and spoke to Warren, with Patti later chiming in and demanding the phone.

Later on, the evil Patti met with Sloan and demanded the phone, only to place the phone inside a drink while demanding Jake, adding that she had the code memorized. The episode's climax saw Patti (with Warren present) hold Sloan at gunpoint at a warehouse, threatening to kill her if Sloan didn't reveal the code. Sloan does, and Jake handed the astrolabe to the couple, while demanding Sloan. After the exchange, Patti fired shots that destroyed beakers full of dangerous chemicals, with Jake and Sloan trapped inside before Des rescued them. Patti later escaped and left Warren to deal with Malachy Doyle, but Jake tracked down Patti and captured her, leading to the villainess' off-screen arrest.
