The villainous Patricia Preston
Patricia Preston is the main villainess from a short story released by Wnews on July 24, 2022.
Introduction[]
Patricia is the mother of main protagonist/narrator Tom, with the story's opening establishing that Tom lived in a dysfunctional family as his parents fought constantly with each other. Their arguments reached the point where they actually attempted to force their son to choose sides.
One night, Patricia found her son hiding in the wardrobe and took him on a ride without telling him where they were going. When the child pleaded with his mother to take him back home, the woman responded by telling him to stop complaining (adding that he was acting like his father).
Suddenly, the car stopped in the middle of nowhere, and afterwards, Patricia exited the car and told Tom to keep watch while she went for help. The protagonist waited for hours for his mother, but would be picked up by a an old park ranger. The elderly man had lost his son years earlier and consequently he decided to adopt Tom after the child was disowned by his father.

Tom lived with his adoptive father until the man died of old age, he later went on to become a successful businessman in adulthood, also married a loving woman and expecting a their first child with her.
One day, Tom was tasked a meeting with Mr. Preston, a wealthy man who was a potential business partner. When the man met him and his wife, he was shocked when he saw the latter as he recognized her as Patricia (his long lost mother). The callous woman pretended not to know or recognize her son uring their introduction, and she acted cordial to him afterwards. However, when her second husband left, Patricia scolding Tom and warned her not to ruin things for her, while referring to her son as a "brat."
Patricia's words revealed that on the night that Tom was left to guard their car, she actually abandoned him and took a ride from her future second husband, leaving the protagonist to believe that his mother had been kidnapped. After Tom found out the truth about his mother, Patricia boldly admitted to abandoning Tom, voicing her lack of regret for her cold-hearted actions, while accusing and her ex-husband and son of bringing her down.
The villainess boasted about everything she wanted, and in addition, the evil Patricia attempted to take credit for Tom's success, adding that her actions made her son strong and that he didn't become a loser like his father (even going as far as referring to her abandoning Tom as a "gift" to him).
Tom walked off and turned down his deal with Mr. Preston, and in the story's final moments, Patricia visited her son and pleaded with him to help her out, claiming that she fell on hard times. In response, Tom told his mother to be strong and deal with her problems on her own, adding that the latter was his gift to her, leaving the greedy woman stunned that her own callous words were used against her.
