Olympia Lawrence as an alternate reality villainess
Olympia Lawrence (Skye P. Marshall) is a regular character on the CBS series, Matlock. She is a junior partner at Jackson Moore, a prominent law firm that Madeline Matlock joins in the series opener. In episode 1.14, "Game Day" (airdate March 6, 2025), Olympia appeared as a villainess in an alternate scene.
The series pilot revealed that Madeline Matlock was actually Madeline Kingston, and her placement at Jackson Moore was part of her plan to find out who stole and hid important documents that could have taken opiods of the market, as it was also revealed that Madeline's daughter, Ellie, died of an opioid overdose several years prior. One of three suspects in the cover-up was Olympia; the other two being Julian Markston (Olympia's ex-husband), and Howard "Senior" Markston (Julian's father). In "Game Day," the investigation revealed that the culprit entered a bathroom after taking the documents, and it was believed that Julian was the culprit until Madeline discovered that the room was a women's bathroom.
Madeline was stunned by this, because it led to a possibility that Olympia was the possible culprit, and it led to an imagined summation that showed Olympia in the storage room searching for the documents, eventually finding them. Olympia turned heel afterwards and stole the documents, and it was followed by Madeline entering her own fantasy scene and encountering the alternate and villainous Olympia, while attempting to convince herself that Olympia couldn't have done it, only for Olympia to say that she could. Regarding the use of Julian's key card, Olympia stated that she and Julian could have switched key cards by accident, and it was followed by the villainess telling Madeline to look at the evidence and make sure she was blaming the right person.
In addition, the evil Olympia told Madeline to face the possibility that she hid the documents that could have saved Ellie's life, flashing a sinister smirk as part of her heel persona in the summation. The villainess also told Madeline to check her old office for more proof of Olympia's villainous actions, and it's at that point that the summation ends and Madeline's brought back to reality. The season finale, "Tricks of the Trade (Part 2)," revealed that Julian did hide the documents, with Julian confessing to Olympia, though the summation ends without revealing the alternate heel Olympia's true fate.
