Villainous thief/assassin Natalie Hirst

Natalie Hirst (Romina D'Ugo) is the main villainess from "The Common Wealth," episode 4.06 of Republic of Doyle (airdate February 17, 2013).

Natalie Hirst is a notorious art thief who was spotted in the episode's opening at The Rooms, a museum that the Doyles and Des Courtney were guarding. She posed as a custodian, but was spotted by Jake Doyle removing her outfit and heading to another area, with Jimmy O'Rourke catching Natalie before Jake tackled Jimmy, inadvertently letting Natalie escape. It was revealed that Jimmy and Natalie had a history:  he had been pursuing her for 10 years, while bulding mutual rapport--with Jimmy comparing their encounters to those between Sherlock Holmes and Professor James Moriarty.

Jake and Jimmy worked together to capture Natalie, which they finally did in the episode's midpoint, with Natalie being interrogated about her latest heist. After stating that Angus Farris, a supposed fellow thief, was also after what she was stealing, Natalie asked to speak to Jimmy alone, after which they bonded and revealed that she had always been close by wherever he was--leading to the pair kissing. Natalie gave Jimmy an assumed location to Angus and the stolen currency, only for the information to be revelaed as false. All the while, the evil Natalie snatched a pen from the table and threatned to harm Constable Monica Hayward, which was followed by Natalie taking Monica's clothes and posing as her as part of her escape.

The episode's climax revealed that Natalie's thieveries were a front for her true profession as an assassin, and in the episode, she and Farris were hired to kill High Commissioner Shane Garrett, only for Natalie to shoot Garrett non-fatally, as she wanted to be done with killing. Jimmy, heartbroken that the woman he had affections for was a killer, confronted Natalie at the docks, as she planned to escape via sailboat. Jimmy stated that he knew Natalie's location because that was her escape route from Algeria, and it was at that moment that Natalie asked Jimmy to leave with her, adding that she didn't kill Garrett because she was done killing, plus her client had a petty reason:  Garrett had screwed up on a kickback deal. Jimmy turned down Natalie's offer, and after Jake arrived with police, the villainess was handcuffed and arrested.
