The evil Mrs. Stanton
Mrs. Stanton is a villainess from issue #15 of Crossed: Badlands, which served as Part 2 of the "The Golden Road" story arc. She was a teacher at Stableford Junior High School.
The issue saw Stableford becoming the latest community to become infected by the Crossed, a viral infection that caused those who suffered from it to become sadistic murderers. Stableford Sheriff Lorna Bishop quickly went to the Junior High School to rescue her niece Philly, finding the building ransacked and Mrs. Stanton standing outside. Upon being questioned by Lorna, Mrs. Stanton claimed that the children were "misbehaving", being revealed to have callously left Philly and several other students behind with the Crossed in order to save herself. Lorna cursed Mrs. Stanton for her horrendous act before pushing past her to enter the building, with the villainess praying for salvation from the unfolding crisis.
After managing to rescue Philly and her friend Tara from the hordes of infected students, Lorna brought them back outside, where it was revealed that Mrs. Stanton had been infected in the interim. Mrs. Stanton embraced her heel turn into one of the Crossed, ripping open her shirt to bare her breasts and giddily claiming that she felt the Rapture approaching. As the evil Mrs. Stanton and the infected children closed in, Lorna was forced to shoot Tara in the head when she fell behind and was grabbed, doing so as a mercy kill to save her from the sadistic torture Mrs. Stanton and the other Crossed would have inflicted. Lorna then quickly drove away from the school, leaving the fate of Mrs. Stanton unknown.
