Molly Michaels (Theresa Joy) is a villainess from "Head Over Heels," episode 3.02 of Republic of Doyle (airdate January 18, 2012).

Introduction

Molly Michaels is the wife of Bruce Michaels, and her first appearance saw her hold Jake Doyle at gunpoint after he entered her motel room (during his inspection of Des Courtney's hit and run), while demanding to know the whereabouts of her husband. She later phoned police and stripped Jake of his clothes, leaving him humiliated in front of the police department, including Leslie Bennett. With the help of Sgt. Daniel Hood, Jake (with Malachy Doyle present) tracked Molly to her workplace at a race track, and during their meeting, Molly apologized to Jake and later mentioned Bruce being worried that someone was trying to kill him, while revealing that Bruce's story about him having an ailing sister was a lie. In response to Jake's question about a bag of money in Bruce's possession, Molly expressed surprise while asking what else he had on him, after which she returned to her job.

It was later uncovered that Bruce was part of a counterfeiting ring, and had stolen money and plates from Arnold Hirsh. After Des survived a car explosion, Jake was contacted by Bruce, who arranged a meeting. Both Jake and Malachy suspected that it was a trap; however, after Rose Miller phoned Malachy and stated that Frances Lemont (a woman from Rose and Martin Poole's past) wanted in on the ring, the pair meet Bruce and Molly, who were held hostage by hired gun Arnold Hirsh. Molly demanded the plates from Jake, who stated that he didn't have them before Malachy knocked out Arnold; after which Bruce escaped and left Molly behind. After Jake and Malachy tracked Bruce to his car, where he took out the plates, Molly called Jake and stated that Arnold was holding her hostage.

Climax & Arrest

The episode's climax saw Molly arrive with Arnold, after Frances appeared with Rose and Martin. Arnold fired his gun and demanded the plates, threatening to kill Molly, with Bruce pleading with Arnold not to hurt Molly. Arnold stated that he didn't have to worry before handing his gun to Molly, who pointed it at her husband to complete her betrayal. Regarding her actions, the evil Molly reminded Bruce of how he left her behind earlier, while adding that she bet on a "better horse" in the form of Arnold. However, Arnold and Molly's attempt to take the plates resulted in them being electrocuted, as Jake had the plates connected to an electric battery. Afterwards, Molly was arrested (off-screen) along with Bruce and Arnold.
