Mercedes Martinez is a professional wrestler competing as a villainess in WWE.

After 17 years on the independent circuit, Mercedes made her WWE debut at the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament in 2017. She defeated Xia Li, Princesa Sugehit, and Abbey Laith to reach the semifinals, where she was defeated by Shayna Baszler. Following a pair of appearances on NXT, Mercedes participated in the second Mae Young Classic tournament, defeating Ashley Rayne in the opening round before losing to Meiko Satomura in the second round.
Mercedes officially signed with WWE in January 2020, and made her official NXT debut on the January 15 episode, participating in a #1 Contender's battle royal. She picked up her first singles wins over women such as Kacy Catanzaro and Santana Garrett, while also establishing herself as a heel in both matches. Mercedes cemented her heel persona in July of 2020, when she attacked Shotzi Blackheart and aligned with the Robert Stone Brand, serving as one of Stone's two clients--the other being Aliyah.
Mercedes began a feud with Rhea Ripley by attacking her and costing her an opportunity at the NXT Women's Championship. The feud came to a head on the September 8 episode of NXT, which saw Mercedes defeated by Rhea in a steel cage match. Following her defeat, Mercedes was fired by the Robert Stone Brand.
Main Roster[]
Mercedes Martinez as a masked villainess on Raw
Mercedes' first main roster appearance came as a surprise entrant in the Women's Royal Rumble on January 26, 2020. She entered at the #6 spot and lasted eight minutes before she was eliminated by the duo of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. Mercedes turned heel on the main roster in September 2020, when she was shown as one of the members of RETRIBUTION, a villainous faction who had been causing chaos on Raw and SmackDown and attacking several members (both male and female) of the main roster--while all donning hoodies and masks--since August of 2020. On the September 7 and 14 editions of Raw, the evil Mercedes appeared as a masked villainess with the rest of the faction (which included fellow villainess Mia Yim), as they made maniacal threats against the entire WWE roster; she cemented her alliance with RETRIBUTION on the September 21 episode of Raw.
