The evil and ambitious Megan Harrington

Megan Harrington (Amanda Lisman) is the main villainess from Private Eyes' fourth season opener, "Family Plot" (airdate November 2, 2020). She is the daughter of the wealthy Leland Harrington, the CEO of Harrington Worldwide, and the sister of Gabe Harrington. Megan worked at her family's company as the VP of Sales & Marketing.

In the episode, Matt Shade and Angie Everett were hired by Leland's live-in nurse, Ellen, to investigate a series of attacks on him. Regarding Megan, she was first shown with her stepmother, Gloria (Leland's third and most recent ex-wife), stating that she was at dress fittings for the company's upcoming party at the time of the most recent incident, in which a car nearly ran over Leland on the mansion grounds. The episode's progression saw Gabe as the PIs' main suspect because of his estrangement from Leland due to his drug addiction. This was displayed after yet another attack on Leland, this time an attempted poisoning, in which he accused his son of trying to turn the board of directors against him after Leland dismissed him from the company; while Leland was known to be a controlling and demanding father to both of his children, Gabe in particular was singled out as the family disappointment.

Matt and Angie later inserted themselves into Harrington Worldwide's "Roaring 20s"-themed party and confronted Megan regarding her alibi, or sudden lack thereof, as it was revealed that she wasn't truthful about her whereabouts. Megan confessed that she was seeing her ex-fiancé, Bryce, at the time; having rekindled their relationship after Leland originally forced her to call off the engagement. Megan revealed they were planning on marrying after her father's death, so she had no reason to kill him. Later on, the pair and Ellen suddenly found Gabe dead in his office from an apparent cocaine overdose, leading to Officer Danica Powers being called. After a fireplace key was found in the room, it was originally believed that Gabe had been gaslighting Leland to make him appear forgetful and attempted to kill him so Gabe could retake his place in the company. Leland ended up arrested due to the fact that his phone was used to order the compound that laced Gabe's drugs and actually killed him: fentanyl.

After Leland's arrest, Angie spotted scuff marks in the drug residue caused by a high heel, which led to Megan being suspected. The episode's climax saw Megan express sorrow for Gabe's death to the party attendees, and she was then encountered by Angie regarding her promotion before receiving a phone call. The caller was Gabe's drug dealer, who claimed he had found out Megan's role in her brother's death and threatened to reveal it if he wasn't paid off, with Megan agreeing to the terms under the condition that no police were involved. It was at that moment that Matt and Danica appeared, revealing that Matt posed as the dealer in a plan to expose Megan as the villainess, after which everything was revealed.

Though Megan was originally suspected due to Leland disapproving of her relationship with Bryce, it turned out her real motive was her ambition, as she planned to take over Harrington Worldwide. After realizing that Leland likely would be reappointed to another term, Megan put her plan into action by gaslighting and attempting to murder her father, and ultimately killing Gabe with the fentanyl. The villainess used Leland's phone to order the fentanyl to frame her father, and as Angie uncovered, the scuff marks were Megan's initials from her custom monogrammed shoes. Matt deduced that Leland staying on as CEO meant that even in the event of his death, it wouldn't be guaranteed that Megan would take over. The ruthless villainess declared that she took matters into her own hands, and in response to Angie's statement that she destroyed her own family, Megan retorted that just because they lived together didn't mean they were family, right before she was handcuffed and arrested.
