The evil Martha Hogwood
Martha Hogwood (Emma Spurgin Hussey) was the main villainess from the 2020 horror film, A Werewolf in England. She is the owner of an inn known as Three Claws, which she ran with her brother, Vincent Hogwood.
Martha is shown welcoming main protagonist Archie Whitlock and parish counselor Horrace Raycroft, who arrested Archie for murder, though Archie stated that the man he killed was originally a beast (a werewolf). As the film quickly reveals, Martha and Vincent are conspirators in a plot to kill their tenants, as they had made a pact with a trio of vicious werewolves to kill victims and cut up their body parts to feed them every blood moon.
After going over her plan with Vincent, Martha approached Minnie, a prostitute, to engage in a tryst with Horrace; though Minnie learned Martha's true plan later on. Archie found out about the Hogwoods' scheme after seeing them carve up the body of one of their victims, with Martha informing Vincent that someone was watching them. After Archie told Horrace what he had seen, the pair caught the sinister siblings with a body, leading to Martha confronting the duo while wielding an axe.
In response to Horrace's verbal arrest, the evil Martha revealed that she killed his coachmen and his horses, and later cackled as she told the pair that they weren't escaping. The sadistic and cackling villainess wielded her axe at the pair in her attempt, later brawling with Horrace and pummeling his nose with the axe handle. Archie's attempt to shoot Martha failed, after which he went into one of the rooms and found Minnie and Jane (another guest) tied up and gagged. After Horrace entered, Martha attempted to hack her way inside with the axe, but after she spotted the group, she ended up shot and killed by Minnie--a single shot in her head.
