The demonic Lizzie Borden
Lizzie Borden (Hartleigh Buwick) was a villainess from the 2022 film, The Inhabitant.
The film utilizes Lizzie Borden's real life past as an accused killer, believed to have murdered both of her parents with an axe. While Lizzie was acquitted of the murders, she was labeled as a psychotic murderess up to (and even after) her death at age 66. In the film, Lizzie is an ancestor of main protagonist Tara Haldon, as well as Tara's mother, Emily Haldon, and Emily's sister (Tara's aunt), Diane. Her introduction showed Lizzie appearing to Tara in one of her vision, as the villainess handed Tara an axe and attempted to coerce her into killing her infant brother, Jack, coming after Tara had a nightmare where she kills Jack with an axe.
As the film's progression revealed, Lizzie had also appeared to Diane, who revealed during Tara's visit that Emily had also been seeing Lizzie. Emily denied having the same visions as her sister, who was believed to have killed her infant son years prior. The climax revealed that both sisters experienced the same visions, but while Diane didn't give in to Lizzie, Emily turned heel and murdered her infant nephew years prior, and reverted to her heel persona in the film's events by killing various victims with an axe while dressed like Lizzie. After Emily was arrested, the film ended with the evil Lizzie appearing to Caleb (Tara's other brother) as he was playing inside the family vehicle, giving the indication that she would continue her attempt to corrupt Tara.
