Lisa Knight, aka Emma Michaeltree (Lara Jean Chorostecki), was a villainess from "The Return of the Grievous Angel," the second episode of Republic of Doyle (airdate January 13, 2010).

Events

Emma Michaeltree was introduced as a young woman who approached Jake and Malachy Doyle under the claim that she was searching for her father. She distributed a photo of a young man, who was later revealed as Victor Beerman, and claimed that he hooked up with Emma's mother and impregnated her. However, Jake and Malachy's visit to Victor's home resulted in Victor denying ever having a daughter, and after Jake informed Emma, she was given Victor's name and address, after which Emma giving him a check as payment.

Later on, though, Emma's check bounced, and the episode's progression revealed that there was another Emma Michaeltree, whose identity was stolen nine days prior to the episode's events, leading to the revelation that "Emma" was an impostor. Jake and Malachy were later confronted by a man named Bill Gorski, who had been following them and revealing Emma's true identity as Lisa Knight, while claiming to be Lisa's boyfriend. However, Lisa was later found dead inside the trunk of her car, with Victor being suspected in Lisa's murder.

In a surprise twist, the episode's climax revealed that 25 years prior to the events, Victor and Bill robbed a family of $500,000 in jewelry, with a young woman being killed during the robbery. Bill ended up arrested and locked up, while Victor fled and kept the money for himself. In addition, Lisa was actually Bill's daughter, and she ended up raised in poverty as a result, leading Lisa to track down Victor, using Emma's stolen identity as part of her scheme. After being given Victor's information by Jake, the villainess went to Victor's home and blackmailed him, with Victor handing Bill's intended share to Lisa.

During the exchange, Victor's teenaged son, Keith, witnessed everything and wanted to meet Lisa--believing she was his half-sister. During their meeting, the evil Lisa revealed her true identity and her motivations, as well as his father's past as a criminal. In addition, the callous villainess stated that she would report Victor even after being paid, and as a result, Keith bludgeoned Lisa to death with his skateboard, doing so to cover up for his father.

• Lara Jean Chorostecki later appeared on Designated Survivor as the evil Beth MacLeish, and also played villainess Christina Blake in 2019's Crossword Mysteries: Proposing Murder, as well as the evil Sister Ruth on Chucky.
