Larissa Good (Elika Portnoy) is the main villainess from the 2019 film, Obsession (alternately titled, American Dream).
Introduction[]
Larissa Good is a Russian woman who was introduced as the young wife of George Good, who took in mechanic Sonny Jordan after he saved him from an attack by an unnamed mugger. After Sonny's appearance, Larissa quickly became taken by him, with the feeling becoming mutual when Sonny and Larissa romantically embraced each other. Though Larissa stated that they would never act on their lustful feelings for each other again, she and Sonny eventually began an affair.
George informed Sonny about his plan to open a motor park, with Sonny later informing Larissa, who stated that it would a good goal for them--meaning herself and Sonny. The pair later colluded on a plan to kill George, which included Sonny luring George to the garage under the pretense of helping him with the tractor. Once George was under the tractor, Larissa pulled the lever and dropped the tractor on top of her husband, after which George shouted for help. In response, Sonny moved George's head further to his right, after which Larissa dropped the tractor once again, killing George and injuring Sonny's hand--both being part of the plan.
After the murder, Larissa ditched her shoes, which had George's blood on them, and went to a grocery store to create an alibi for herself. She later returned to the scene after being phoned by Detective Crawford (a longtime friend of George's), and later expressed shock and portrayed herself as a grieving widow after being informed about George's death.
Heel Turn[]
The film's progression saw Sonny and Larissa continue their plans and development of the motor park, with Sonny also being grilled by Detectives Crawford and Elias. The interrogation revealed that the tractor was dropped twice, and it was suspected that Sonny either acted alone, or Larissa conspired with him--details Sonny informed Larissa about after he left the station. However, Sonny claimed that they had nothing on him, while Larissa dropped a bombshell: she was pregnant with their child (later revealed as a boy). With that, Sonny went to the detectives and confessed to killing George on his own, doing so to make sure their child would have one parent raising him.
The final scenes saw Sonny receiving letters from Larissa regarding their son, while Larissa herself was in her office; having gone on to run the motor park. In a twist, Larissa turned heel by embracing her lover, the same mugger from earlier in the film, which revealed that Larissa had sent him to kill George in the attempted robbery. When that failed, the evil Larissa seduced and manipulated Sonny into helping her kill George, and later lied about being pregnant to play on Sonny's emotions and get him to take the fall for the murder. The villainess had been sending various photos of young Black boys to Sonny as part of the illusion, and she was shown using a photo of her employee's son in her last letter to Sonny, which Sonny read just as he was about to be executed. The fllm ended with Larissa surveying her ill-gotten gains, while successfully avoiding any punishment for her murderous scheme.
