Kendra Patterson (Chelsea Rose Cook) is the main villainess from the 2022 Lifetime film, Bad Nanny (alternately titled, The Nanny; airdate October 21, 2022).
Backstory[]
Kendra Patterson was born Haley Patterson, and her backstory revealed that she was one of two daughters of Marcus Bell, who also had two separate families. When Haley was a child, Marcus left her and her mother to remain with his other daughter (and main protagonist), Remy Bell, though Marcus offered to support Haley and her mother financially, only to be ejected by Haley's mother, who contracted pneumonia and passed away shortly afterwards.
Haley ended up in an orphanage, where she was subjected to physical abuse from all of the boys, and she was never adopted afterwards. She went on to become a caregiver for children, but she became obsessed with her half-sister, who went on to become a successful children's author, while also having a child of her own--a daughter named Ella--with her husband, Jack Winter.
Events[]
Haley wanted revenge on Remy, and plotted to take everything from her half-sister. Her scheme centered on becoming Ella's nanny, but after seeing that she was under the care of a nanny named Matilda, Haley (now renamed Kendra) relentlessly stalked and harassed Matilda into leaving her position, and resorted to attacking Matilda when she didn't comply. The events saw Kendra introduce herself to Remy as Ella's new nanny, displaying a sweet and kind demeanor to both Remy and Ella, though while pushing Ella on the swing, Kendra began to seethe when Ella mentioned how amazing her mother was.
Upon receiving Remy's new dress, Kendra decided to lace the dress with poison ivy before giving it to Remy, who developed a rash as a result. The villainess later blamed Ella for wanting Remy to put on the dress, and when Ella found out about her sinister aunt's words about her, Kendra claimed that if she "lied" for Ella, she would be sent away. Kendra continued her scheme by seducing Jack, using his and Remy's constant arguments to entice him into an eventual tryst, and later met Marcus for the first time since her childhood, with the villainess mentioning her late mother without revealing her true identity.
Kendra made an attempt to push Marcus down a flight of stairs, only for Ella's appearance to stop her from doing so. The sinister villainess later attempted to sabotage Remy and Jack's marriage by posing as the former and posting messages about wanting to cheat with her co-worker, David, doing so to make Remy appear adulterous.
Reveal & Arrest[]

Following Jack and Remy's latest argument, Kendra attempted to make out with Jack, who rebuffed her advances. Afterwards, Kendra revealed that her plan was to have Jack and Ella to herself, as well as destroy Remy, leaving Jack wondering what Kendra's problem with Remy was. In response, Kendra revealed that Remy was her half-sister, and she admitted to sabotaging Remy, with Jack threatening to reveal everything to Remy. The evil Kendra pushed Jack down a flight of stairs, and after seeing Remy outside the house, the madwoman banged her own head on the banister to make it appear that Jack attacked her.
Both Jack and Kendra were hospitalized; however, the latter left the hospital and returned to the house, where she angrily confronted Marcus and revealed herself as his other daughter, doing so before stabbing him to death. The villainess later abducted Ella and drove off, and finally revealed her true sinister colors to her niece; accusing Ella of being spoiled and claiming that she was her new mother, while threatening to harm Ella if she screamed for help as she stopped at a diner.
Kendra stole a customer's car, and hid out as Remy searched for her daughter. The pair drove off, only for Ella to escape, leading to Kendra (as well as Remy) pursuing her. Once Remy arrived, Kendra held Ella hostage and revealed her identity as Remy's half-sister, while also blaming her for her mother's death and her terrible upbringing. The sinister Kendra stated that she was planning on hurting Remy, using Ella to do so, but once Ella escaped, Remy tackled her crazed half-sister, who boasted about sleeping with Jack. Kendra continued her attempt to kill Remy, who grabbed a rock and knocked the villainess out. She was arrested and taken to jail afterwards (off-screen).
Trivia[]
- Kendra Patterson is similar to fellow Lifetime villainess Jen Russell from 2016's Evil Nanny, as each villainess posing to work as nannies and befriend a child to care with and have had their past issues. One such difference that Jen was sent to wayward home and resorted to an arson, Kendra was sent to an orphanage and attacked the previous nanny upon stalking her.
- The younger version of Kendra is played by Shia Peterson.
