The evil Kate Kelsey
Kate Kelsey (Nola Martin) is the main protagonist/main villainess from the 2023 film, Good Wife's Guide to Murder (released on Tubi on January 6, 2023).
Introduction[]
Kate Kelsey is the host of a podcast known as, Good Wife's Guide to Murder, where she details true crime stories of wives murdering their husbands, though she often criticizes these villainesses for making mistakes that got them caught and arrested, and lists ten rules that prevent such a fate from happening. Other than her podcast, Kate also co-owns Mendaville, a restaurant, with her husband Matt Kelsey, and the film's early scenes established that the couple were friends with Lenore and Peter Thompson (the latter being a sergeant in the police department).
Later on, Matt is found bludgeoned to death inside his and Kate's home, causing Kate to break down in shock. However, the murder investigation saw Kate as the main suspect, leading to Kate to go on her own investigation into her husband's murder, which would see Kate learn that Matt was involved in a tryst with his employee, Lisa, who sent Kate a note telling her to "open your eyes," with Kate recognizing Lisa's handwriting. Lisa ended up bludgeoned to death by a hooded figure at Mendaville, and later on, Kate ended up finding out that Matt had another mistress, in the form of Lenore.

The film's climax saw Kate meeting with Lenore, as Kate revealed her knowledge of Matt and Lenore's affair, with Lenore confessing to the affair. However, Kate voiced her suspicions towards Lenore regarding the murder, though Lenore denied the claims and later deduced that Kate was the true killer and was trying get Lenore to confess. After handcuffing Brit (an aspiring true crime podcaster who had begun helping Kate with her investigation) for attacking her and allowing Kate to escape, Lenore pursued Kate, though the pursuit ended with Lenore falling off a ladder and to her death. Months later, Kate hosted her latest podcast as a dedication to Matt, but it would actually be a murderous confession, as flashbacks revealed that Kate murdered Matt.
As Kate listed the ten rules, flashbacks revealed that she walked in on Matt and Lenore making out with each other, and afterwards, Kate turned heel and planned to kill Matt. The scheming villainess kept up the appearance of a good marriage with Matt, and later left at 6PM on the night in question while Peter was jogging, to create an alibi for herself. Later that evening, Kate returned to the house in a hooded disguise and bludgeoned Matt to death with a meat tenderizer, which was followed by the villainess portraying the grieving widow to keep her friends on her side.
Later on, the evil Kate killed Lisa one night after their encounter, and another flashback revealed that Kate killed Lenore, as the villainess struck Lenore with a board, sending her falling to her death. Kate cryptically boasted about her murderous deed, and how she's getting away with it, and after completing her podcast, the villainess deleted the video and gave a wink to the viewing audience at the final scene.
