Evil mastermind Kara
Kara (Courtney Elvira) was the main villainess from the 2024 Lifetime film, My Husband's Other Face (originally titled, Controlling My Husband; airdate December 19, 2024).
Introduction[]
Kara was the best friend and co-worker of main protagonist Nicole Silo, who was quickly revealed to be pregnant with her first child with her husband, Jim. However, Nicole and Jim's marriage was estranged due to the latter's affair, and regarding Kara, she congratulated Nicole on her pregnancy, while revealing how she and her boyfriend, Randy, had been trying to have a baby of their own, only to be unsuccessful. In regards to Nicole's marriage, Kara suggested to Nicole that she pays a visit to Agnes, a herbal healer, to help repair things with Jim.
Nicole was given a potion to administer into Jim to bring him back to the man she loved, though unbeknownst to Nicole, she was drinking a batch of tea that was drugged, resulting in Nicole being controlled by a hypnotic phrase. As the film progressed, Nicole learned that Jim's mistress was her boss, Juliette, who was found deceased later on, with the discovery coming after the disappearance of her neighbor, Nelly, whose scarf was found buried in the garden.
Reveal[]
Nicole's confrontation with Jim saw him reveal his knowledge of the tea, after which she fell under the spell and was tied up in the basement, where she actually found Jim tied up and gagged. Jim later revealed that the man posing as Jim was a double, and that the real Jim had been trying to warn Nicole in secret while being forced to give intel about him to the double. Nicole later escapes and encounters Kara, after which Nicole enters Kara's car and urged her to drive off. In a surprise response, Kara turned heel on Nicole, as she was revealed to be in league with the double, who was revealed to be Kara's boyfriend, Randy.
As the climax revealed, Kara and Randy had planned to take Nicole's baby, as Kara had known that Nicole was planning on leaving Jim. Fearing that Nicole would give up her baby, the villainous couple plotted to take Nicole's baby after failing to have one of their own, with the plan including forcing Agnes to hypnotize Nicole into believing that Randy was actually Jim. Regarding the victims. Kara and Randy killed Nelly because she knew that Randy wasn't Jim, and they eliminated Juliette for that reason. Kara ordered Randy to tie up Nicole with Jim, only for Stuart (Kara and Nicole's co-worker) to appear and ask for Nicole. Kara's attempt to send Stuart away failed, resulting in Stuart finding Nicole and Jim tied up, and also encountering Randy, who he fought with earlier.
Stuart and Randy fought once again, while the evil Kara threatened to kill Stuart if he didn't get off of Randy. After Stuart gets up, Nicole realized that Stuart splashed the drugged tea on Randy, and later orders the hypnotized Randy to disarm Kara. This leads to Randy and Kara struggling over the gun, resulting in the gun going off and killing Kara.
