The psychotic Justine Zerbiak
Justine Zerbiak (Alexis Krause) is a villainess from "Future Tense," episode 4.03 of 9-1-1 (airdate February 1, 2021). She is the ex-girlfriend of Anthony, who was shown in the episode's opening entering his shower.
Background[]
Nothing is known of her early life, the only thing that was known is that she dated a man named Anthony. The longevity of Justine and Anthony's relationship was never revealed, only that they split up at some point, with Anthony informing Justine that they needed time apart and she moved to another home. It is apparent that she didn't handle the break-up well and started cyberstalking Anthony.
Heel Turn[]
Justine turned heel in response by watching Anthony from her home, hacking the app connected to Anthony's smart home, Hildy. She would override his commands by making the house turn against him. After watching Anthony enter his shower, the deranged villainess used her access to the house (which she received due to Anthony sharing his password with her) to turn up the temperature of the shower's water to an immensely scalding level. As Justine cackled over tormenting Anthony, she later witnessed Anthony fall and hit his head due to the shock of the scalding hot water. Knowing that she had caused Anthony's near life-threatening injury, the guilty Justine phoned 911 and informed dispatcher Maddie Buckley about her estranged boyfriend being injured.
As Bobby Nash's unit arrived at the house, Maddie gave CPR instructions to Justine, only for the villainess to reveal that she wasn't at the house, as well as reveal that she had seen the accident from her home. Maddie struck a conversation with Justine, who revealed her relationship with Anthony as well as the breakup, with the madwoman claiming that she was planning to show Anthony that his life was better with her in it.
Anthony survived and was carried out on a stretcher, questioning the firefighters how they knew of his situation, before reacting with panic over learning that Justine had phoned 911. He reveals she is actually his crazy ex, as the firefighters realize she might be behind it.
Arrest[]
From their talk, Maddie correctly suspected that Justine was a crazed stalker, quickly calling the police, leading to Sgt. Athena Grant arriving at her house. Justine was initially unaware of why she was sent, though Athena said she check in. Having realized that Maddie reported her, Justine surrendered and was arrested (off-screen) for cyberstalking and reckless endangerment.
