The psychotic Jennifer
Jennifer (Allison Smith) is the hidden main villainess from the 1996 TV film, Lying Eyes (airdate December 9, 1996).
Backstory and Introduction[]
Jennifer is the older sister of Dana, with both sisters being friends with main protagonist Amy Miller. In the film, Amy was engaged in a relationship with Derek Bradshaw, an older married man with children, with Amy learning about his family life after their affair began. Derek was established as a serial adulterer, with one of his mistresses being Jennifer, though it wasn't revealed how long their relationship lasted.
Heel Turn/Reveal[]
Jennifer's relationship with Derek ended when he decided to pursue Amy. Afterwards, Jennifer turned heel by stalking Amy and planning to kill her. Her maniacal scheme began with mailing harassing messages to Amy, including slandering her by writing a scathing rant about Amy in lipstick; all the while, Amy found herself desperate to end her relationship with Derek as the film progressed. Both Jennifer and Dana supported Amy during her ordeal, though the latter two were unaware of Jennifer's heel persona, which later included attempting to kill Amy by trapping her in the steam room and turning up the heat, only for Amy to escape and be encountered by Derek.
The insane villainess made another attempted by tailing Amy while she was out driving, and attempting to use her car to ram Amy's over a cliff. Amy managed to escape, and it was at this point when Jennifer was shown and revealed as the villainess. However, Amy suspected Derek's wife, Elizabeth Bradshaw, and never saw Jennifer. Later on, Jennifer snuck into Amy's room while she slept and tried on her lingerie, before calling Elizabeth's number and snickering. After Elizabeth was cleared, Jennifer revealed to Dana and Amy that Derek had another lover before the latter, claiming not to know who she was. Both girls used Jennifer's intel to try to get information out of Derek, but to no avail.
As Amy drove out of Derek's house, the evil Jennifer emerged from the back of the car and held her at knifepoint, while revealing herself as Derek's past lover and the culprit behind the attempts on Amy's life. In a crazed rant, Jennifer accused Amy of stealing Derek from her, and after ordering Amy to drive to the cliff, the deranged madwoman doused the car with gasoline and set it ablaze in an another attempt to kill Amy, who fought off Jennifer and escaped. However, Amy decided to rescue Jennifer by pulling her out of the burning car right before it went over the cliff, prompting Jennifer to ask Amy why she saved her. Amy stated that Jennifer didn't know what she was doing, with Jennifer again voicing her love for Derek. Jennifer's fate remained unknown after that point.
