Janet Galvin

The evil Janet Galvin

Janet Galvin (Missi Pyle) Is the hidden main villainess from "Ultimatum," episode 6.08 of Numb3rs (airdate November 13, 2009).

Introduction[]

Janet Galvin was introduced as a member of the U.S. Marshals, appearing after the sudden arrest of Ian Edgerton for the murder of Vincent Costello, an FBI informant. Included in the charge was an accusation that Ian was in league with notorious drug kingpin Xavier Salazar, who Ian had arrested years prior and was running his ring while in prison, as it was shown that $500,000 had been sent from Salazar to an offshore account in Ian's name. Regarding Galvin, she stated to David Sinclair that Ian's lifestyle and eccentricities made him the perfect candidate for corruption.

Later on, Ian held Colby Granger hostage and demanded to speak to Charlie Eppes, whose help he needed regarding Felipe Garcia, Salazar's accountant, as he escaped from that same prison a month prior. As Ian revealed, Costello was about to reveal Garcia's location to him, but he was killed before he could; all the while, Garcia had been planning to testify against Salazar, and had been hiding in the prison system.

Janet Galvin's reveal as a corrupt villainess

As it turned out, however, Ian had himself arrested on purpose to search for Garcia, whose requests for a transfer to a lower security facility were all denied by lead Marshal Frank Thompson, who stated that he did so to contain the ring. Ian had suspected that a Marshal was involved somehow, and Thompson's refusal to move Garcia led to the suspicion being pointed towards him. As Thompson led the charge to blow up the wall to get to Ian and Colby, an inmate was shown being given the key to Garcia's cell and a weapon by the actual corrupt Marshal: Galvin.

Two years prior, Galvin turned heel and aligned with Salazar, and regarding Costello, the corrupt villainess killed him and set up Ian in the murder, while also setting up the phony accounts in Ian's name to portray him as corrupt. Garcia had known about Galvin's alliance with Salazar, leading to the villainess convincing Thompson to refuse his transfer requests, as well as sending the aforementioned inmate to kill Garcia. Don Eppes arrived and shot the attempted assassin to death, and afterwards, the evil Galvin ended up handcuffed and arrested by Nikki Betancourt, who revealed the truth about Galvin to Ian afterwards.
