The evil Griselda
Griselda is the main villainess from My Whole Life Was a Lie For 17 Years!, a short story released by My Story Animated (release date October 8, 2020).
Backstory/Introduction[]
Griselda was introduced as a wealthy woman who approached a 17-year-old woman and her baby, with the opening taking place 17 years prior to the events. The woman was abandoned by her boyfriend when she was pregnant, and after hearing her story, Griselda took her to a shelter that she owned, which was for women in need. Griselda had taken in many women, but as revealed by the story's narrator, the same women who left the shelter returned weeks later and were traumatized. Her attempts to inform the police to protect the women from the men traumatizing them resulted in nothing changing, leading to Griselda adopting a misandristic attitude and snapping at all men, resulting in her shelter being closed down.
After losing her shelter, Griselda bought acres of farm land and used it to build another shelter, but this time, she placed walls around the building and hired guards (all female) to patrol the shelter, while also going completely off the grid. Among the several women who lived in the shelter was the aforementioned 17-year-old, whose daughter, Samantha (the main protagonist/revealed narrator), was raised and educated in the shelter.
Events[]
As Samantha revealed, she was taught a modified/twisted version of world history in the community. As ordered by Griselda, teachers instructed students that every invention was created by women, but regarding the outside world, it was destroyed in a different version of the Second World War, leaving the world barren and inhabited by strange monsters and zombies outside the walls of the shelter. Samantha, now 17, had been asking questions and wondering about the world outside the walls, and when she actually snuck outside, she saw that the world was the exact opposite what she was taught, and she also saw something she had never seen before: a young man.
Griselda found out about Samantha's discovery, and told her that the man she saw was actually a woman affected by the radiation, and the plant she saw would eventually die in the environment. Samantha later met a pregnant woman who later fretted over her newborn son being taken, after which Samantha was ejected. After not getting any answers, Samantha went to Griselda, who claimed that the woman died, only for Samantha to see the same woman as a passenger being driven out of the community. Samantha learned that a vast majority of the pregnant women in the community either died or were committed to a wing at the hospital for the mentally unstable, after which Samantha got herself hired as a nurse to check out the wing. Sure enough, she saw that the women inside the wing were alive, but while some of them were drugged, others were lucid and talkative.
One such woman revealed to Samantha that Griselda had been lying and had banned boys from the community, while also revealing that the world wasn't a wasteland as Griselda's twisted teachings had claimed. Samantha snuck outside via a moving van and ended up entering a shopping mall, looking around to see both women and men, with one man coming up to her and offering to show her around. Just as Samantha was about to ask the young man more questions, she was approached by Griselda, who took Samantha aside and revealed her version of the truth. While she did acknowledge that Samantha was inside a mall and that the male gender did exist, she claimed that her lies were told to protect her and the other women, adding that boys grow up to become men who hurt women, using Samantha's mother as an example. In response to Samantha's statement that all men can't be bad, Griselda stated that they were, with Samantha noticing Griselda's ominous glare during her misandristic rant.
The villainess attempted to take Samantha back to the community and ordered her not to reveal anything to the others, with Samantha protesting and stating that the others needed to know. In response, the evil Griselda accused Samantha of "infecting" her community and threatening to "make her pay" before grabbing Samantha and taking her. When a guard heard Samantha's screams and approached the women, Griselda claimed that she was Samantha's grandmother, only for Samantha to reveal the truth and ask the guard for help. Griselda was captured and arrested, and during her interrogation, the villainess refused to talk until her team of lawyers arrived (some of her lawyers were male). Griselda claimed that she hadn't done anything illegal, but as a news report revealed, she had broken various laws with her actions, and she was officially charged.
