Gale Davidson (Paula Marshall) is the main villainess from the second season of Walker.
Introduction[]
Gale Davidson is the widowed matriarch of the Davidson family, and was introduced in the second season opener, "They Started It," as the mother of lawyer Denise Davidson, as well as the grandmother of Colton Miller, Denise's son with husband Dan Miller. As Gale's debut episode revealed, the family had been the Walkers' neighbors years prior, only to end up leaving after the sudden death of Gale's husband, Marv Davidson, in a barn fire. As also established, Gale harbored bitterness towards the Walker family, mainly Abeline Walker, due to her closeness with Marv (Abeline was once engaged to Marv prior to their respective marriages), and she also continuously blamed Cordell Walker for the fire that killed Marv.
Episode 2.13, "One Good Thing," ended up revealing that Geri Broussard, a family friend of the Walkers, was actually Marv and Gale's daughter, who Gale had originally believed to have lost after birth, only for Geri to be adopted by Frank Broussard. Gale and Geri reunited afterwards, though the former's antipathy towards Abeline remained, as she blamed Abeline for knowing about Geri being Gale's daughter, and surreptitiously instilled her belief to Geri during the season's progression.
Reveal[]
In the season's penultimate episode, "A Matter of Miles," Geri noticed Gale telling her that she had always known that she'd return to her, leading Geri to suspect that Gale had known about Geri longer than she had indicated. The following episode, and season finale, "Something's Missing," saw Geri stage a fight with Cordell so Gale could serve as emotional support for the former, who was, in actuality, looking to not only find out how long she had known about Geri, but also the truth about Marv's death. Under Cordell's suggestion, Geri took Gale to the barn, which was halfway rebuilt, and as their conversation turned to Marv's knowledge about Geri, as well as the night in question, Gale revealed the entire truth.
On that night, Marv and Gale argued as the latter was looking for Cordell and Denise, as they were at the barn watching the comet, and it was revealed that the focus of the argument was Marv's conversation with Abeline. Marv revealed to Gale that Geri was alive all along, and that had given her away to Frank Broussard, with the revelation that Frank had raised her for 12 years at that point, while adding that he and Gale couldn't raise her and that Geri had a good life with Frank. In response, Gale turned heel in a fit of rage by bludgeoning her husband with a lantern, which caused the fire, and it was followed by the villainess sealing Marv inside the barn.
In the years that passed, the evil Gale covered up her murderous actions by blaming Cordell, even informing Geri that she blamed Cordell for bringing the lantern, though she attempted to justify her murderous heel turn by voicing her anger at Marv that evening. The villainess continued ranting about her actions, with the confrontation being interrupted by an accidental fire caused by Geri, who knocked over the lantern. Cordell arrived and saved both women, and afterwards, Gale thanked Cordell for saving her, while also informing Cordell that she would turn herself in and confess everything. She also made peace with Abeline, adding that she never hated her, but hated that she wasn't like Abeline, after which Gale apologized and turned herself in.
