The sinister Frances Lemont
Frances Lemont (Shannon Tweed) is a villainess from "Head Over Heels," episode 3.02 of Republic of Doyle (airdate January 18, 2012) and "Hook, Line, and Sinker," episode 5.07 of the series (airdate November 20, 2013).
Season Three[]
Frances Lemont is a woman from Martin Poole and Rose Miller's past; with the former revealing to the latter that he owed her money for purchasing flat-screen TVs from her some time prior to the events. She first appeared early in episode 3.02, "Head Over Heels," which saw her fire her shotgun at Martin in front of a tied up Rose; with Martin drugging her before taking her to Frances' location, due to the fact that Martin told Frances that he had sent the TV's to Rose's home. After expressing her frustration over Rose's phone ringing twice due to Malachy Doyle attempting to call her, Frances took Rose's phone and allowed her to briefly to Malachy, after which she untied the pair and agreed to Rose's terms that she pay back the entire debt--with Frances threatening to kill Martin if she didn't deliver.
Malachy's appearance (after Des Courtney tracked Rose's cell phone) provided enough of a distraction to allow Rose to knock out the villainess with a cooler. However, Frances managed to break free with the help of a bottle opener, and later held Rose at knifepoint while demanding an extra $100,000, doing so after stating that she had known the money was counterfeit but wanted that amount due to the fact that the fakes were good. The climax saw Frances hold Rose at gunpoint during a standoff with Arnold Hirsh, only for Rose to headbutt Frances and knock her out once again. Frances was later arrested (off-screen), along with Arnold and his surprise ally, Molly Michaels.
Season Five[]
Frances Lemont in "Hook, Line, and Sinker"
Frances returned in episode 5.07, "Hook, Line, and Sinker," as she was shown with her cohort, Amelia, illegally selling laptops. She was approached by Leslie Bennett and Callum Purdy after the latter's supplies went missing, with the pair suspecting Frances of being involved in the sale of military supplies. Frances pointed them in the direction of Ian Beverly, a military officer turned mechanic, after which she encountered Sloan Daniels after Amelia caught her eavesdropping. Frances ordered Sloan to take her to Rose, with the villainess holding Sloan at gunpoint while ordering her to help her get to Ian, with Frances stating that he owed her money. While Leslie and Pardy were capturing Ian, Frances (with Rose and Sloan) hotwired Ian's car and was seen driving off following Ian's capture, with Sloan as a passenger.
However, Sloan was actually sending Frances' location to Rose and Leslie, and later in the episode, the pair tracked Sloan and Frances, leading to the villainous latter holding Sloan at gunpoint. Leslie tossed a smoke bomb as a distraction, after which Rose decked Frances before Leslie handcuffed the villainess. Frances snarled and referred to Sloan as a "teenage brat" before her stash of military equipment was uncovered, though after her arrest, she praised Sloan for her ploy against her, while also warning Sloan not to get too cocky and to be careful with Rose.
