Drs. Sue and Ambrosia Pham (Eileen Li) are the main villainesses from "Crispr Sistr," episode 2.03 of Coroner (airdate January 20, 2020).
Dr. Sue Pham was introduced as the supervisor for Brad Morton, a young scientist who was found dead inside a college laboratory. She stated that she and Brad were experimenting with CRISPR technology to eradicate Lewy Body Dementia, which Gordon Cooper (the father of Dr. Jenny Cooper) suffered from. An interview with Erika Mukherjee, a student to blamed Brad for her getting fired, led Jenny and detective Donovan McAvoy to Agamede, a rival lab that Erika claimed Brad was a mole for.
It was there that Jenny and Donovan spotted who they thought was Sue, only to learn that the woman was Sue's twin sister, Dr. Ambrosia Pham, who claimed not to know Brad. In addition, Ambrosia claimed to be estranged from Sue, stating that Sue considered her a sellout for working for a "big bad drug company," before telling Jenny to call her regarding Gordon. Jenny later met with Brad's parents regarding their son, and noticed his mother in a wheelchair, with Brad's father stating that Brad promised a cure for his mother. However, Jenny asked Mrs. Morton if she had Lewy Body Dementia, and her answer of "no" confirmed Jenny's true conclusion: Mrs. Morton had Huntington Disease, as did Brad.
In addition, it was revealed that Sue's research was actually for Huntington Disease, and not Lewy Body Dementia as originally claimed. As it turned out, Sue and Ambrosia's rivalry was a front for their collusion in the research, which was done due to both sisters having the disease. They used rats for their experiment, and also used Brad as well, though Brad became angered over being used as a lab rat and euthanized the rats before planning to expose the sisters. Sue turned heel by attacking Brad and giving him a dose of CO2 (carbon dioxide), while Ambrosia followed suit by injecting Brad with a lethal dose of potassium chloride, killing Brad instantly. Ambrosia posed as Sue during her first encounter with Jenny and Donovan, but it was in the film's climax that Jenny spotted both sinister sisters together, and seeing the real Sue (who was experiencing advanced symptoms) injecting Ambrosia.
Regarding Sue's advanced symptoms, Ambrosia stated it was an after-effect of the treatment, while calling their experiment a "leap of faith." When asked if killing Brad was part of the plan, Sue confessed to the murder, with Ambrosia protesting and later confessing herself. Despite Sue being willing to take the blame due to living a death sentence, Ambrosia revealed that Sue attacked him, but it was Ambrosia who injected the potassium chloride and killed Brad. The villainous Sue stated that Brad threatened to expose them, but Jenny pointed out that they were killing each other due to their injections. In response, Ambrosia stated that there was still a chance and that she didn't want to live without Sue, after which both sisters were handcuffed and arrested.
