Dr. Leona Saunders (Amy Davidson) was a villainess from "The Corpse at the Convention," episode 10.05 of Bones (airdate October 30, 2014).
Dr. Leona Saunders is a forensic entomologist who approached Dr. Jack Hodgins at a forensic science convention, with Hodgins expressing bitterness over seeing her again, as they had a past together. She was last shown being approached by Hodgins and engaging in a heated conversation, after which the convention was interrupted by a fire alarm going off. The cause of the alarm was a body that was burning to a crisp, and the Jeffersonian's inspection shockingly revealed that the victim was none other than Leona.
After learning about Hodgins knowing Leona, Seeley Booth and James Aubrey approached Hodgins about Leona's death, leading to their history being revealed. Leona and Hodgins knew each other in college, where the latter invented an odor-recognition system designed for locating remains, but as Hodgins revealed, Leona turned heel and stole his plans, claiming them as her own and making $4 million as a result. Because of this, Hodgins ended up as a suspect, though it was later uncovered that Leona was also engaged in an affair with Dr. Edward Harkness, the host of the convention. Harkness became a suspect, as was Tess Brown (a novelist and rival of Dr. Temperance Brennan), who was Harkness' other mistress.
As it turned out, Leona's killer was inventor Aldus Carter, who also had a sexual tryst with Leona. Despite appearing to be apologetic to Hodgins, the evil Leona had actually maintained her scheming heel persona, as she slept with Aldus to steal his plans for his latest invention: a video spectral comparator. Aldus found out about Leona's deception and stabbed her to death before burning her body.
