Cobra Queen (Tress MacNeille) is a recurring villainess from the Kids' WB series Freakazoid!
Cobra Queen was born Audrey Manatee in Skokie, Illinois; though very little was revealed about her early life. At some point, Audrey turned heel and became a shoplifter, and during one of her thefts, the evil Audrey stole an experimental cosmetic that had been left in the sun too long. When Audrey used the product, the effects ended turning her into a half-human/half-cobra hybrid. Other than her physical appearance, Audrey had the ability to control snakes, and she would use them to continue her criminal activities, doing so as Cobra Queen.
Cobra Queen first appeared in Season One's "Relax-O-Vision," but she returned as the main antagonist later on in "Sewer or Later," which saw the villainess in her sewer lair receiving a collection of stolen jewelry from one of her pet snakes. Cobra Queen's activities reached Freakazoid, who became miffed that he would have to go into the sewers to face his foe, due to his disgust over the sewer's foul odor. Nevertheless, Freakazoid entered the sewer and defeated one of Cobra Queen's snakes before facing the villainess, who mistook Freakazoid for another superhero, Atomic Boy.
After apologizing for her error (as well as accepting Freakazoid's advice for better lighting in her lair, Cobra Queen sent her other pet snake after Freakazoid--threatening to turn him into a wallet if he failed. After her other snake was defeated, the villainous Cobra Queen spewed her literal venom towards Freakazoid, who responded by mocking her speech, stating that she sounded like Looney Tunes character Sylvester. Cobra Queen flatly denied Freakazoid's claim, but when tasked with uttering a tongue twister, the villainess stumbled to the point where she ended up passing out.
Cobra Queen was arrested at episode's end, though she continued making appearances throughout the series. At some point during the second season, Cobra Queen began dating fellow villain Cave Guy, with their relationship continuing by the events of the series finale.
