Evil Cassidy Miller

Cassidy Miller as a dream sequence villainess

Don't worry. It'll be over soon.
~ Cassidy Miller's ominous words to her husband, Luke, in Lucy's nightmare

Cassidy Miller (Joely Fisher) is the main protagonist from the 2014 Lifetime film, Fatal Acquittal (airdate August 3, 2014), though she appeared as a villainess in a dream sequence.

The film opened with a nightmare from Cassidy's teenage daughter, Lucy Miller, which sees Cassidy comforting her husband, Luke Miller, after he returns home from work. As Luke vents about his hectic day, Cassidy gives Luke a drink and massages him, much to Luke's gratitude. Shortly afterwards, Luke suddenly begins falling ill, with Cassidy appearing to show concern for her husband.

However, Cassidy turned heel after Luke passed out, when she ominously told her husband that "it would be over soon." Cassidy's sinister statements revealed that she drugged Luke, and afterwards, the evil Cassidy began setting up Luke's murder as a suicide, leaving a typed note and a pill bottle at the scene, while wearing dishwashing gloves to avoid leaving prints. The fiendish villainess laid on top Luke and expressed feigned remorse that "it had to come to this," only for Luke to emerge and fight with Cassidy, who grabbed a pillow and smothered Luke, after which Lucy wakes up for her nightmare.
