The evil Barbara Warrick

Barbara Warrick (Jenina MacGillivray) was the hidden main villainess from "Body of Evidence," the antepenultimate episode of Republic of Doyle (airdate December 3, 2014). She was an interior designer and the wife of security company owner Jerry Warrick.

The episode saw the entire Doyle family, Des Courtney, and even Leslie Bennett being interrogated, as the Doyles were accused of robbing Barbara's safe. As the Doyles all explained, Barbara had hired them to test out her security system by breaking into the house, with Jake informing Inspector Vince Pickard to call Barbara for confirmation. However, Pickard revealed that Barbara was deceased, having been found outside the house, with Jake being accused of killing Barbara.

The episode's progression not only revealed that Barbara's death was accidental, but that Barbara was a villainess who masterminded the robbery scheme, which also included murder. As it turned out, Barbara's neighbor, Philip Miles, was in love with Barbara, and knowing this, Barbara turned heel and colluded with Philip in a plot to kill her husband. The villainess provided the murder weapon to Philip:  a lily containing cardio glycosides, with Phillp using the poison to kill Jerry. Barbara's motive was to inherit Jerry's money, but she found out that her husband was in massive tax debt, and the government would seize all of their assets.

At that moment, the evil Barbara stole the money from her safe, and contacted the Doyles as part of her plan to set them up as robbers, which also included staging her bedroom to appear that the Doyles had broken in. The scheming villainess triggered the security alarm and hid the money inside a wall to collect later, and was planning to hide inside the attic until the police left her house. However, while climbing the attic ladder, the high heel on Barbara's shoe broke, causing her to fall and hit her head, killing her instantly. The shoe fragment and the discovery of wallpaper glue on Barbara's fingernails ended up clearing the Doyles, while also fully exposing Barbara's heel persona.
