Barbara Shaw as a hallucination villainess
Barbara Shaw (Sarah Voigt) was a supporting character in the 2022 horror film Terrifier 2. She was the mother of teenage siblings and main protagonists Sienna and Jonathan Shaw, her husband having recently passed away. Although Barbara was among those murdered by the film’s antagonist Art the Clown (who shot her point-blank with a gun), she posthumously appeared as a villainess during a hallucination in the film’s climax.
Introduction[]
The climax had Sienna arriving at an abandoned carnival to rescue a kidnapped Jonathan from Art. After confronting the murderous clown, Sienna was repeatedly whipped and then strangled by her adversary, causing her to fall unconscious and begin to hallucinate. The beginning of the hallucination had Barbara (who Sienna was unaware had been killed) waking her up, telling her everything was okay and that she was safe.
Heel Turn[]
Barbara as an evil clown
Barbara and Sienna hugged each other in a warm embrace, but shortly afterwards, Barbara began turning heel by mockingly asking her if Jonathan had told her the news of her death, confusing Sienna. Jonathan then appeared in the dream, telling Sienna that Barbara was no longer their mother, and it was followed by Barbara's heel turn cemented with her official reveal as an evil clown akin to Art.
As part of her heel persona, the evil Barbara adopted white face paint and a small hat, grinning maliciously at Sienna. The maniacal villainess grabbed Sienna, causing her to see visions of her mother’s death and Art's subsequent desecration of the corpse. Sienna sobbed in anguish, as the villainous version of Barbara disappeared.
