The evil Barbara Legrow

Barbara Legrow (Jessica Greco) is the main villainess from "The Dating Game," episode 3.06 of Republic of Doyle (airdate February 15, 2012).

Backstory

Barbara Legrow is the wife of Roger Legrow, with the couple's brief backstory revealing that they were looking to become parents. However, Roger suffered from infertility, and as for Barbara, having sex with her husband began to feel like work, so she later began an affair with Kenny, an armored truck guard. The affair actually resulted in Barbara becoming pregnant, which put her in a bind, as a pregnancy would expose her extramarital affair.

In a desperate plan to cover her bases, Barbara decided to commit robberies, with her scheme including deceiving both of the men in her life. Regarding Roger, she coerced him into helping her under the guise of paying for invitro fertilization, with the couple committing several robberies. As for Kenny, the evil Barbara manipulated him into being an accomplice in what would be their last score, doing so for money for their baby. The episode began with the villainous couple (in ski masks and white outfits) committing their latest robbery of an armored truck, which included "subduing" Kenny with a taser before stealing a valuable jeweled necklace. 

The robbery was spotted by Jake Doyle and Sgt. Leslie Bennett while they were arguing, leading to the pair going after the robbers. Barbara shot at Leslie after both she and Jake entered the truck, after which the couple drove off with both of them locked inside. The duo's first attempt to escape resulted in Jake shot in his shoulder by Barbara, though their second attempt saw Leslie fire her remaning bullet after the couple opened the doors, causing a can of spray paint to activate and blind the villainous duo. The Legrows subdued Jake and Leslie and escaped, but after their encounter with Roger, Jake noticed a spot of blue paint on the back of his neck, resulting in Roger being revealed as one of the robbers.

Climax and Arrest

Jake and Leslie tracked Roger and Barbara, with Barbara scolding Roger for being followed before stating that they had a good reason for committing the robbery. Kenny later arrived and abducted Barbara, after which Roger was taken into custody and revealed his and Barbara's motive for the robbery. However, Jake and Leslie received a different story from Kenny after he was taken in, which included the fact that the couple had committed several robberies prior to the events. Jake and Leslie later tracked Barbara, and spotted the villainess with a duffel bag of stolen loot before Leslie held up her gun, with Barbara later revealing that she was pregnant.

During Barbara's interrogation, the villainess confessed to the robberies as well as her affair with Kenny, stating that she planned her deceptive scheme to hide her affair. In addition, Barbara stated that she was planning to deceive Roger into believing that the baby was his--despite Kenny being Black and the chances that her baby would be born biracial, though Barbara stated that she had a "50/50 chance." Barbara was arrested for the robberies, and she was later approached by Roger, who learned the truth about her affair but stated that she would raise the baby no matter what. As Leslie revealed to a hospitalized Jake, the couple pled to a deal in exchange for Roger being allowed to see the baby when Barbara gives birth.
