Angelica Rodriguez (Gizel Jimenez), is a villainess from "Presumed Guilty," episode 14.10 of Law & Order: SVU (airdate January 2, 2013).
Backstory[]
When she was a young child, she was assaulted by a Priest at her church. The abuse carried on until she was impregnated and forced to get an abortion. The priest put all the blame on Angelica for her own abuse, claiming she seduced him. Angelica confessed to Father Chris Shea, a kindhearted priest at the church. Father Shea helped her but he was unable to do much as Angelica's assailant confessed to him and later had him transferred to Guatemala.
Over the years Angelica spiraled badly and turn the drugs after confessing to her brother Enrique what she experienced. However, she didn't specify the name of the Priest and he mistakenly assumed it was Shea because of his transfer.
Events[]
Angelica soon got herself cleaned up and enrolled in rehab. However, Enrique had discovered Shea had returned to New York and with a friend violently beat him. They were prevented from killing him because of Sam Randall, an ex-con who intervened but was blamed.
After Shea identified Enrique and his friend, they were brought in by NYPD and in the interrogation revealed Shea abused Angelica. Shea denied the accusations but it became clear that he knew who did assault Angelica.
Once she was located, Angelica accompanied cleared up to SVU that Shea did not rape her and when visiting her brother at Riker, she told him that he went after the wrong man and she revealed Father Shea defended her. She wanted him to be released, since he felt remorse for his error but was told by Det. Rollins that he had to pay for his assault.
Heel Turn[]
Due to the reminder of her past trauma and the result of her brother being arrested, Angelica turned heel and went after the real culprit.
After a church sermon, Angelica confronted her abuser Monsignor Menendez. Armed with a gun, she proceeded to shoot him dead in front of the gathered mass who promptly fled the scene. Alerted by the shots, Det. Amaro found Angelica holding the weapon and standing over Menendez's body and quickly arrested her. He asked her on why she did it, as he received permission to arrest him and put him in prison. She coldly replied that "Too late". Despite getting justice, she broke down in Amaro's arms.
She was presumably imprisoned for the murder (off-screen).
