Amy McGraw (Andrea Hickey) was the main villainess from the 2021 Lifetime film, Dying to Marry Him (released on Lifetime Movie Club on September 24, 2021).
Backstory[]
Amy's backstory revealed that she was a childhood friend of Jeff Dardenswick, with the pair often spending plenty of time together at Jeff's house. The duo played many games; on one occasion, they even had a pretend wedding, though when Amy was 13, she and her parents were in a car accident, with her parents perishing and Amy surviving but being badly injured. Amy was placed in foster care and underwent several reconstructive surgeries in her adult life.
At some point, Amy engaged in a tryst with Thomas Mannit, though she saw their hook-up as a date and eventual relationship, while Thomas wasn't as serious. Amy continued to pursue Thomas, which led to Thomas filing a restraining order against Amy.
Events[]
The film's introduction saw Amy discover that Jeff, now a business professor, was engaged to marry Macy Williams (the film's main protagonist), which angered Amy--who stated that Jeff had been hers since they were kids. Amy later entered a bridal gown shop and introduced herself to Carrie Taylor as a wedding planner, with Carrie hiring Amy to plan Macy and Jeff's wedding. The villainess spotted Thomas' restraining order and later visited Thomas, who warned Amy about the order before welcoming Amy under the belief that she wanted another one-night stand. When Amy voiced her love and devotion to Thomas, it was met with rejection from Thomas, who ordered Amy to leave before he called the police.
In response to the threat, Amy pulled out a gun with a silencer and shot her former lover to death, and later on, the deranged madwoman continued her duties as a wedding planner, while also meeting Jeff for the first time since they were both 13 years of age. Amy feigned not knowing Jeff, who didn't recognize Amy, and afterwards, Amy later placed herself in Jeff's class to get closer to him, and it was there that Amy revealed herself to Jeff as his childhood friend, which surprised Jeff immensely. Meanwhile, Carrie spotted the restraining order against Amy, and later that evening at the shop, the evil Amy strangled Carrie in an attempt to kill her, though Carrie ended up hospitalized and placed in a coma. The villainess later portrayed Carrie's absence as being work-related to cover her tracks, while also attempting to make her move on Jeff.
Amy's latest act saw her approach Jeff at the shop while wearing Macy's planned wedding dress, and as they sampled cakes together, the villainess attempted to flirt with Jeff, who backed away and left, leaving Amy defeated and upset. As Amy phoned Jeff's friend, Wyatt Morrison, and changed his bachelor party plans, Jordy Bliss discovered the restraining order and showed it to Macy, who informed Jeff about Amy's past psychotic actions. After being informed by Jeff that Amy attempted to flirt with him while wearing Macy's dress, Macy and Jordy confronted Amy--with the former informing Amy that she and Jeff planned to elope. Amy lashed out at Macy and referred to her as ungrateful, after which Macy and Jordy went to get the former's dress, leading to the pair seeing Amy's shrine to Jeff.
Climax & Death[]
The relentless Amy later crashed Wyatt's bachelor party for Jeff, and (while wearing an eye mask) attempted to seduce Jeff and take him into the bedroom. However, when Amy mentioned that she would be better than Macy, Jeff recognized Amy right away and ejected her, but not before the villainess vowed to ruin him. Amy later phoned Dean Cahill and falsely accused Jeff of sexually harassing her, leading to Jeff being put on leave, and the climax saw Macy and Jeff's wedding day approaching, while Amy snuck into the house and attacked Jordy before holding Macy at gunpoint in a heated confrontation.
The psychotic villainess stated that she would kill to get what she wanted, while boldly admitting to killing Thomas. Macy managed to distract Amy by calling Jeff's name, leading to a brawl between the women that saw Macy strangle Amy with her gown before approaching Jeff. However, Amy rose up and fired a gunshot, while voicing her intentions on killing Macy. Jeff informed Amy that she had no way out of her situation, as Carrie had woken up and was giving her statement to police. Even so, Amy remained intent on killing Macy, only for Jeff to strike the villainess on the head with a champagne bottle, sending Amy over the stairwell and to her death.
