Alexis Torres, aka Taura Bridges (Keri Hilson), is the main villainess from the 2023 film, Ruined.
Backstory[]
Taura Bridges' backstory revealed that she was a high school sweetheart of secondary protagonist Landon Richards, to the point where they eventually became engaged. However, as the wedding day drew closer, Taura became unstable and violent, and upon noticing his fiancée's change in demeanor, Landon ended things with Taura just as they were set to become husband and wife.
In response, Taura pursued Landon while armed with a gun, threatening to kill Landon if he didn't take her back. The confrontation also saw Taura present an ultrasound to Landon, revealing that she was pregnant with their child--a boy. Landon attempted to talk Taura down, which later turned into Landon wrestling Taura for the gun, a struggle that resulted in Taura falling off the roof of the building.
Events[]
Taura survived the fall, but lost the baby, and in the 16 years that passed, Taura underwent facial constructive surgery and became a therapist, using the name Alexis Torres. During that time, Alexis still maintained her torch for Landon, and upon seeing Landon on screen with his current wife, main protagonist Olivia "Liv" Richards (nee Jones), Alexis turned heel again and schemed to destroy the couple to regain Landon. Her villainous plan began with approaching Liv at a gathering before taking her on as a patient, and their first session saw Alexis suggest to Liv that she should start a fight with Landon, which occurs after Landon had a nightmare about Taura, who Landon claimed was a patient.
The villainess later stalked the couple after police were called to the house, and afterwards, Alexis appeared to Landon (who didn't recognize that Alexis was Taura) as a patient, acting sexual in manner during the session. Alexis' next session with Liv included Landon, who was shocked to see that Alexis was the therapist that Liv was seeing. The session resulted in the couple arguing after Landon's mentioning of wanting kids so his name could live on was dismissed by Alexis, who later called Liv under the pretense of helping her social media following. This meeting saw Alexis informed Liv that their doctor/patient relationship would end, and that they would continue as friends, after which Alexis began to assist Liv with her profile. Alexis left under the claim that she would get a charger for Liv's dying laptop, but in actuality, the villainess snuck into the Richards house and placed a hidden camera inside.
During this point, Liv found a high school yearbook that showed old photos of Landon and Taura, and once Alexis returned, the villainess claimed to Liv that her 16-year-old son attended that high school. Afterwards, Alexis listened in on the couple's argument, and later sabotaged Liv's profession by posting deepfakes of her. Upon seeing Landon and Liv make love, Alexis became enraged, and later on, the madwoman approached Liv and her brother, Jayce Jones, and started flirting with the latter, leading to Jayce and Alexis engaging in a sexual encounter. However, Jayce spotted Alexis' shrine to Landon and started taking pictures with his phone, only for Alexis to appear and stab Jayce to death.
Climax and Arrest[]
Liv's attempt to look into Alexis saw no one under that name being recognized, leading to Liv and her best friend, Charlotte, to plan to test Alexis' DNA. The plan included Liv arranging a meeting with Alexis, whose straw was taken by Liv for Charlotte to use for the DNA test. However, Alexis had possession of Liv's phone and sent a text to Charlotte attempting to cancel their meeting, only for Liv to arrive and to learn, via DNA evidence, that Alexis was actually Taura Bridges. Meanwhile, the evil Alexis approached Landon and started seducing him, and it was during this moment that Landon saw his name tattooed on her shoulder, leading him to realize that that Alexis was Taura. The villainess berated Landon for (in her mind) showing off Liv and forgetting about not only Alexis, but their son, and ordered Landon to choose between the two of them, threatening "consequences" if Landon chose Liv.
Landon's devotion to his wife saw him knocked out with a vase by Alexis, who later attempted to pursue Charlotte in her place of work. The film's climax saw Landon and Liv confront Alexis in her house, with the villainess appearing with a knife and denying Landon's statements regarding their son, adding that they were fine without Landon. At that moment, Alexis attacked Landon and went after Liv, who saw Jayce in the bathtub after being stabbed to death, and it was followed by the women fighting once again before Liv ran off to the kitchen. Liv took out a knife and stabbed the incoming Alexis, and afterwards, a detective approached the couple and revealed that Alexis' son was nonexistent, confirming that she lost the baby in the fall that occurred 16 years prior.
Alexis/Taura survived the stabbing and was arrested and placed in jail, and in the film's final scenes (taking place 18 months later), the villainess wrote a letter to Landon claiming that her lawyer was working on a loophole that could get her out of jail, while making a delusional claim that Landon was pretending to defend Liv to cover up his desire for Alexis. Afterwards, Alexis took out her cellphone and watched video of Landon playing with his infant son with Liv, named Jayce, further increasing Alexis/Taura's insanity.
