Alexis is first introduced as Colin's ex fiancee as she relocated from Tenessee to Atlanta, Georgia after Colin was arrested and convicted of manslaughter after a bar fight 5 years prior to the film's events. After Colin's parole gets denied, Colin murders two police officers and steals the van later stalking Alexis in Georgia. Colin arrives at Alexis' home and begs for her to forgive him while also revealing that he knows Alexis cheated on him while he was in prison. After finding a note from Jeffrey Granger (Terri Granger's husband) Colin becomes enraged and chases Alexis into her bedroom. Alexis finally admits to having an affair which results in Colin bludgeoning her to death with a lamp. During the film's climax, Colin terrorizes Terri (the main protagonist) and her family while also waiting to get revenge on Jeffrey. Colin forces Terri and her kids to drive to Alexis' home where Terri learns that Jeffrey and Alexis were having an affair after Jeffrey called Alexis asking her to meet him at a hotel. Terri realizes that her encounter with Colin was not by accident and instructs Jeffrey to call the police. Terri kills Colin in self-defense and later leaves Jeffrey for not only having an affair but putting their family in danger as well.
