Alana Jackson

The evil Alana Jackson

Alana Jackson (Gabrielle Dennis) is the main villainess from "The Psychic in the Soup," episode 10.11 of Bones (airdate March 26, 2015). She is one of a number of clients of psychic Justine Simmons (the episode's murder victim).

Alana was encountered by Seeley Booth and James Aubrey regarding Justine's murder, as it was uncovered that Alana withdrew $3000 for her account to give to Justine, with Alana stating that she gave Justine the money because she needed it. She voiced her gratitude to Justine for her efforts regarding her husband, who was serving in Afghanistan, with Justine sending spirit guides to protect him. Alana revealed that she and Justine became close, which led to an affair.

After Anthony Taylor (a fellow psychic) was suspected, Justine's father, Desmond Simmons (a pastor) became a suspect due to his beliefs against psychics--as well as a possibility that he may be against Justine's sexual orientation, though Desmond denied the claims and revealed that Justine came out to him when she was sixteen, adding that he supported her. It was later revealed that Justine had another lover in the form of her landlady, Hilary Featherson, and during an argument, Hilary tossed her mallet at Justine's head, which struck her but didn't directly kill her. The blow ended up contributing to Justine's actual death, which was revealed to be caused by Alana. Blood found on a girl's bike ended up pointing to Alana, as the bike belonged to her daughter.

Alana had previously revealed that she and Justine ended things weeks ago, but as it turned out, she became angry when Justine informed her that she wanted to hug it out to let their energies commune. Alana responded by shoving Justine, causing her head to strike her daughter's bicycle and killing her, as her head was already damaged by the mallet. Instead of calling 911, the evil Alana placed Justine's body inside a tree that they carved their initials in, and during her confession, the villainess stated that she didn't mean to kill Justine and that her shove was light. In response to Aubrey mentioning an earlier blow to Justine's head playing a role, Alana callously believed that she was completely innocent and wasn't at fault, only for Booth to remind her that she hid Justine's body. The panicked villainess claimed that she was thinking of her kids, and she was arrested (off-screen) afterwards, with Booth later revealing that Caroline Julian would strike a deal for probation to protect Alana's children.
